Affordable, Low-Cost Counselling in Vancouver

Individual Counselling (50 mins): $50 + GST

At Avery Therapy Centre, we understand that seeking counselling and psychotherapy can sometimes be financially challenging.

That's why we are committed to offering accessible and affordable counselling services to individuals who may be facing financial constraints. Our low-cost counselling program is designed to provide support and guidance to those in need without breaking the bank.

What is Low Cost Counselling?

Low-cost counselling is a valuable resource for individuals who require therapeutic assistance but may not have the financial means to access it at standard rates. At Avery Therapy Centre, we offer individual counselling sessions for only $50 per session, plus GST. These sessions are conducted by our dedicated intern counsellors, who are currently completing their master's degrees in counselling.

Our intern counsellors are carefully selected and undergo rigorous training to ensure they can provide effective and evidence-based support to our clients. They work under the supervision of a seasoned, PhD-level therapist, ensuring that you receive the highest quality care.

Accessible Counselling Options

We believe that mental health support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we offer both in-person and virtual counselling sessions to accommodate your needs. Whether you prefer face-to-face interactions or the convenience of online counselling, we have you covered.

Intern Counselors: Empathy and Compassion

Our intern counsellors are chosen not only for their academic qualifications but also for their empathy, compassion, and respect for clients. They undergo a thorough selection process to ensure they possess the qualities needed to provide effective counselling services. Typically, our interns stay with the center for about 8-12 months, gaining valuable experience and honing their skills.

Insurance Coverage

We understand that some clients may have extended health plans that could cover counselling sessions.

It's essential to note that some extended health plans may reimburse the cost of sessions conducted by intern counsellors who are under the supervision of a Registered Clinical Counsellor or Canadian Certified Counsellor.

However, coverage can vary based on your specific plan and insurance provider, so we recommend confirming with them directly.

Supporting Accessibility

To create more accessibility for clients without extended health benefits, we kindly ask those with coverage to consider seeking services from our registered clinicians. Doing so, you help us continue offering reduced-rate counseling to those who need it most.
