Background

Hello! My name is Nhi Le and I am honoured to be an Intern Counsellor at Avery Therapy Centre. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Immunology and Physiology and I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I have always been passionate about making a meaningful impact on people’s lives which led me to my extensive volunteer work in hospitals where I discovered how fulfilling it was to support and connect with my patients on a personal level. This transformative experience inspired my career shift to counselling, where I aspire to blend my diverse academic knowledge and insights to provide holistic support to those navigating the challenges in their own lives.

I am currently working as a behavioural interventionist for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This hands-on role gives me the opportunity  to create a safe environment that fosters the developmental growth and well-being of these children along with their families. I recognize the systemic challenges that these families face and I strive to understand and support them as best as I can.

In my spare time, I enjoy trying new activities such as perfume making and pottery. I also love to bake, watch movies, and go on walks with my dog.

Therapeutic Approach

I draw from a humanistic person-centered therapeutic approach, where I strive to create a safe space centered on compassion, empathy, and collaboration. I acknowledge everyone’s unique lived experiences and will honour the autonomy of each person, recognizing their agency in shaping the therapeutic journey. Self-reflection and exploration is not only welcomed but actively encouraged. Together, we will draw from the richness of your experiences through an intersectional and culturally sensitive standpoint. My goal as a therapist is to cultivate a deep connection where you will feel heard and deeply understood.

I will integrate various modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Adlerian techniques, to meet your unique needs and goals. I am dedicated to empowering clients with a diverse set of tools and perspectives that will foster personal development and resilience. I value open communication and feedback in order to best support you on your healing journey. I look forward to working with you and hearing your story!
