Direct Billing is Now Available

Getting support is now easier than ever. With direct billing available through most major Canadian insurance providers, our team takes care of the claims process for you, reducing out-of-pocket expenses and eliminating unnecessary paperwork.

What is Direct Billing?

Direct billing is a service that allows your counsellor to submit eligible claims directly to your insurance provider on your behalf. Instead of paying the full session fee upfront and seeking reimbursement later, your insurance company pays the covered portion directly, and you are responsible only for any remaining balance (such as deductibles, co-payments, or amounts not covered by your plan).

Please note that direct billing does not guarantee coverage. Coverage levels, eligibility, annual limits, and reimbursement amounts vary by insurance plan. We recommend confirming your counselling benefits with your insurance provider before your first appointment. Any portion of a claim that is denied or not covered remains the client's responsibility.

Before opting into direct billing, we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm that your plan includes coverage for services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who is a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Things to Know About Insurance Coverage

While coverage differs between insurance providers and individual plans, we are happy to assist you in understanding your benefits. Please note:

  • Any deductible, co-insurance, or non-covered amount will be charged following your session when direct billing is used.

  • Where direct billing is not available, payment in full is required at the time of the appointment.

  • Insurance providers generally do not reimburse late cancellation or missed appointment fees. These charges are the responsibility of the client and are subject to our 48-hour cancellation policy.

Eligibility

Please note that direct billing is not enabled automatically. To use this service, you must choose to provide your insurance information to Avery Therapy, which allows us to submit claims through Jane App's secure direct billing system. This is an optional service that we offer at no additional cost.

Before enrolling in direct billing, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify that your plan includes coverage for services provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs), who is a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

It is important to confirm both your eligibility for counselling benefits and whether your plan supports direct billing, even if your insurer appears on the list below.

Please note that not all insurance providers in Canada currently participate in our direct billing network. The following list reflects our registered direct billing partners as of June 2026:

How do I Opt-In?

If you are covered by one of the insurance providers listed above and your plan includes coverage for services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), you may be eligible for direct billing.

To enroll, please email admin@averytherapy.com with the subject line "Direct Billing Opt-In" and include your full name. We will then send you a secure form through Jane App to collect your insurance information.

If you are contacting us from an email address that differs from the one associated with your Jane App account, please also include your Jane App email address in the body of your message.

Eligibile Counsellors

At this time, direct billing is available with a limited number of our counsellors: Serena Martin and Allison Lee. We are taking a gradual approach to implementing this service and hope to expand direct billing availability to additional counsellors in the future. We appreciate your patience as we continue to roll out this option across our practice.
