Niki Blakely

Background
I welcome people from all walks of life and strive to create together a safe, supportive space for healing, resilience, and growth. My role is to walk alongside you as you build on your strengths. Working with your own wisdom and inner resources, we’ll explore new coping strategies and perspectives. I have supported clients through grief, loss, chronic illness, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and other mental health concerns. In our work together, clients discover personal resources, develop new skills, deepen self-awareness, and build greater autonomy. Through sharing stories, tears and laughter, we can find healing.
I bring a wealth of lived experience that shapes my counselling approach. I am an artist, an ally, a lover of nature, and a mom of two adult children. My background in visual art and art therapy continues to influence my work, playfulness, creativity, and connection are core to who I am. Across all of these roles, the common threads have been listening deeply, supporting emotional growth, fostering skill development, encouraging creative expression and empowering others.
Therapeutic Approach
Every person is unique, which is why I tailor therapy to your individual needs, goals, and experiences rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you while building on your strengths and creating meaningful, sustainable change.
My work integrates a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Attachment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, mindfulness, and somatic approaches such as Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). These approaches can help you process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional resilience, deepen self-understanding, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
Above all, I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship grounded in compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. Whether you're seeking relief from emotional pain, healing from past experiences, or simply looking to live with greater intention and fulfillment, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
