Background
I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student working toward becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor. For the past decade, I have worked in helping roles as a Behavioural Interventionist and Community Living Counsellor. Through this work, I’ve come to understand that meaningful change isn’t only about reaching goals—it’s about feeling understood, more grounded, and more capable along the way.
An experience that shaped my path happened early in life. As a child, I met a classmate with autism and cerebral palsy and remember feeling unsure of what I didn’t yet understand. Over time, that uncertainty became curiosity, empathy, and a deep respect for difference. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of supporting autistic children, adults, and their families in meaningful, long-term ways. That shift—from fear to curiosity—continues to guide how I show up in this work.
These experiences have taught me the importance of meeting people where they are. I believe growth is rarely linear, and that meaningful change happens when we feel seen, supported, and safe enough to explore our experiences. As a counsellor-in-training, I aim to create a space where clients can make sense of their stories and move toward change at a pace that feels right for them.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is grounded in person-centred values: you deserve to feel safe, respected, and free from judgment. I support clients in clarifying what matters to them, understanding patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and building a stronger sense of agency both in and outside of sessions.
I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), alongside a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming lens. I have experience working with children, adults, and families navigating anxiety, stress, behavioural concerns, relationship challenges, and neurodivergence-related experiences, including the impact of stigma and systemic barriers.
I value open communication and welcome feedback throughout our work together. My goal is to ensure our work remains collaborative, responsive, and aligned with your needs.
